Boeing plans a new product announcement in about an hour (4:30 p.m. Pacific time). I’m guessing they’re going to launch the 747 Advanced. Check heraldnet for updates.

And I guessed wrong. Boeing’s launching the 737-900ER, an extended range version of 189-seat -900 which also has a pair of rear exit doors to allow for an additional 26 passengers. Lion Air of Indonesia is the launch customer, taking 30 planes with an option on 30 more.
