Singapore CEO blasts Airbus

The CEO of Singapore Airlines is not happy with Airbus and the delays that will keep it from delivering the A380 to market. Chew Choon Seng told a German magazine last week that the airline is considering suing Airbus over the disruption the late delivery is causing to its aircrew training and fleet replacement plans.

Key Quote: “‘Airbus took some time to acknowledge the delay in the timetable for the A380’s entry into service,’ Mr Chew said, adding, ‘I would have expected more sincerity.’”

This Taipei Times story looks at that, and also at the impact of proposed U.S. Legislation on A380 development. There’s a bill in Congress, it seems, that would require airlines to install anti-missile defense systems on 800-seat airliners.
