A big Boeing bite of the Apple (Cup)

It’s Apple Cup week (for you those of you outside the Northwest, that’s the week of the annual football game between the University of Washington and Washington State). Given that, it seems a good time to point out that:
* Boeing Blogger-in-chief Randy Baseler has an MBA from Washington State. http://www.boeing.com/randy/about.html
* And 787 chief Mike Bair has a bachelor’s degree in physics from WSU. http://www.boeing.com/companyoffices/aboutus/execprofiles/bair.html
* And Boeing sales chief Scott Carson not only has a bachelor’s degree from ol’ Wazzu, he’s also on the WSU Foundation’s board. http://www.boeing.com/companyoffices/aboutus/execprofiles/carson.html
What’s this all prove? Seems to me that if you want to have a successful aerospace program, ya gotta put a Coug at the top.
Speaking of Cougs on top, on his blog today, Baseler has photos of the WSU flag atop the Space Needle http://www.boeing.com/randy/, the result of a campaign to raise money for Habitat for Humanity, during which WSU alums donated more money to help Gulf Coast hurricane survivors than alums of UW.
Key Quote: “Huskies think Rainier is a mountain. Cougars know it’s a beer.”
And with that, this Coug is off to find him a big dose of Vitamin R.
Go Cougs!
