Why create insect breeding grounds?

Will you please tell us why Washington started placing water holes in all the new developments as a place to catch all water runoff? We have always prided this part of Washington as being quite mosquito-free. With all these cesspools being built in all of these developments we certainly are setting ourselves up for great breeding grounds for hoards of mosquitoes.

Whose lamebrain idea was that, anyway? Especially since they didn’t started building those holes until after the threat of the West Nile virus came into being. But then again, I shouldn’t be surprised at all when I look at some of the decisions being made by our local officials. The Herald should write an article about this situation.
