A top official in the Snohomish County Executive’s office has resigned and the position quickly filled.

Executive Office Administrator Martha Robins left her job working for County Executive Aaron Reardon on Aug. 11.

She earned $108,717 and worked for the county 21/2 years.

In her resignation letter to Reardon, she said she appreciated the opportunity to work for the county.

Her position was filled last week by Brian Parry, who was working as an administrative assistant in the executive’s office.

Robins was hired with fanfare by Reardon in 2004 to oversee the executive office, and was put in charge of instituting the county’s priorities-based budgeting, county statistical reporting and economic development.

While working for Snohomish County, Robins served on the county’s Diversity Council. She also was interim director of the county Department of Emergency Management in the months after the former executive director resigned.

She is an officer in the Army Reserve and was a former manager in the King County Jail.

Parry has worked for the county since Jan. 26, 2005. He also worked for Reardon in the state Legislature.

Parry will oversee day-to-day operations in the executive office and SnoStat, the county’s statistics gathering program. He will earn $76,935.
