EVERETT – Police continue today to search for whoever hit and killed a 12-year-old boy Monday night in the Lowell neighborhood.

The boy was reportedly struck by a pickup truck at about 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of S. Third Avenue and Main Street, Everett police Sgt. Boyd Bryant said. He suffered severe head injuries and broken bones. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office reported this morning.

The boy’s name has not been released.

Investigators are searching for a white 1970s model single cab pickup truck. It is raised up on large wheels and has a loud exhaust. The pickup likely has right front end damage, police said.
