EVERETT – In spite of winning only one of their four singles matches, the Cascade Bruins edged the Everett Seagulls 4-3 Friday by sweeping the three doubles matches in the Wesco North meet.
With the win, Cascade (2-1) rebounds from its 7-0 blanking at the hands of Snohomish Wednesday, a loss that snapped the Bruins’ 34-dual meet winning streak.
In what proved to be the crucial match of the meet, Cascade’s No. 2 doubles team of Tom Le and Sopheak Seng defeated the Everett tandem of Michael Capeloto and Michael Iringan. After losing the second-set tiebreaker (7-4), the Bruin duo responded by winning the third set in a 7-5 tiebreaker.
