LYNNWOOD – A woman driving four children in a minivan crossed several lanes of traffic on Highway 99 and drove over a sidewalk and into a limousine business in Lynnwood on Sunday afternoon.
The building was filled with smoke and the van’s engine was still running when firefighters arrived around 4 p.m., said Leslie Hynes, public information officer for Snohomish County Fire District 1.
The children, ranging in age from 2 to 14, were treated for minor injuries at Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby and Pacific campuses, Hynes said.
Washington State Patrol trooper Kirk Rudeen said the 28-year-old Lynnwood woman was driving north when she crossed the highway in the 15300 block of Highway 99.
There is no indication that she was drinking before the accident, he said. The case remains under investigation.
