More good news for Airbus

Sometimes good news begets good news.
On Monday, Airbus announced that it won an order for four more of its A380 jets from Emirates Airlines. The Dubai-based carrier gave Airbus and its troubled superjumbo jet program a vote of confidence not only by reaffirming its previous commitment for 43 A380s but also by requesting four new superjumbos.
On Tuesday, Italian carrier Air One SpA said it will buy 50 of Airbus’s single-aisle A320s, according to a Bloomberg report. Though not as significant an order as the A380s, the Italian airline’s request is part of its plan to replace Boeing 737s. The order is worth $3.65 billion at list prices.
