Airbus capped off the Paris Air Show with a $3.7 billion order from Singapore Air for 20 of its A350 Extra Wide Body jet.
The European manufacturer came into the week with only 13 firm commitments for its oft-revised mid-sized A350. As of Friday, Airbus had added 141 firm orders for the latest version, the A350 XWB, bringing the total of firm requests for the plane to 154.
Over the week, Airbus added 425 firm orders from 19 customers to its tally for 2007, pushing it ahead of the Boeing Co. for year-to-date orders. Boeing added orders for 66 planes during the air show, including a 50-jet order for its 787.
