Snohomish County Red Cross volunteer Hunter MacKay, 67, of Bothell left Wednesday for California to assist in disaster-relief work at the South Lake Tahoe wildfires.

In April, Hunter was deployed by the Red Cross to help flood victims in New Hampshire. Red Cross disaster-relief assignments can last up to three weeks.

College offers online learning

Cascadia Community College is hosting a new online learning Web site called The eLearning Center at http://cascadia. theelearningcenter.com.

The new site is offered through Fort Worth, Texas-based Gatlin Learning Inc.

The eLearning Center offers self-study courses on topics such as business and public service through several national online education content providers. Course prices range from $25 to $5,000.

Apply for Stanwood craft show tables

Applications are available for craft vendors to participate in a summer craft show on July 21. Tables are $12.

Tickets required to tour Navy ships

Naval Station Everett plans to offer tours of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and the guided missile destroyer USS Shoup from noon to 5 p.m. on the Fourth of July.

Free reservation tickets will be given to visitors as they enter the base on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 11 a.m.

Safety rules require visitors touring the ships to be least 8 years old and able-bodied. Shoes must be flat-heeled and closed-toed. People with bare feet or wearing sandals will not be allowed onboard.
