Former CEO among VIPs attending rollout

Seated in the front row for this afternoon’s rollout is a familiar face from Boeing’s past: former CEO Phil Condit.
Condit was the first of two top executives to resign in a scandal-filled 15-month period. He stepped down in December 2003 when his chief financial officer, Mike Sears, was implicated in a crooked deal for the lease of 767 tankers to the U.S. Air Force.
His successor, Harry Stonecipher, resigned in March 2005, following an internal investigation into his relationship with a female Boeing executive.
