Boeing’s 787 supplier, Vought Aircraft Industries, said its contribution to the Dreamliner remains on schedule.
The Texas-based company, which builds Dreamliner parts in its South Carolina factory, said it is meeting Boeing’s requirements in its second quarter earnings press release.
With its second set of aft fuselage barrels delivered to Boeing, Vought is trying to reduce the amount of work it performs out of sequence.
“We remain pleased with our progress on the 787 program and the performance of our 787 team, despite the challenges of a new program of this magnitude,” said Elmer Doty, Vought ‘s chief executive. “Our focus continues to be on implementing schedule recovery plans, including working with our suppliers, to ensure that our entire team continues to meet the program requirements.”
