CARNIVAL
The Monroe Covenant Church has scheduled a carnival from 1 to 4 p.m. today, following the Evergreen State Fair Parade in Monroe. The free event includes hot dogs, face painting, games, inflatables and live bluegrass music. Festivities will be located at Monroe Covenant Church, 202 S. Sams St., Monroe.

WOMEN’S WORKSHOPS
Women’s inspirational and motivational workshops are being featured by the Christian-based Learn To Let Go and Grow. The series runs 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 11 and Sept. 13 at the Old Snohomish Library (the Carnegie Building), 105 Cedar Ave., Snohomish.
There will be a different series for each of the two evenings.
The workshops are open to all women who register and will be taught by motivational speaker and registered counselor.

SHAWL MINISTRY
St. Michael’s Prayer Shawl Ministry meets 10 a.m. today at 1512 Pine Ave., Snohomish.
The group meets to make shawls for the elderly, sick, and new mothers. Each shawl includes prayers for the person that it’s meant for. This group is open to everyone, whether you knit, crochet, or just want to learn.

A 13-week long support group for people who are grieving the loss of a loved one is 5 to 6:30 p.m., Sundays, Sept. 9 through Dec. 2, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 9613 20th St. SE, Everett. The group, called GriefShare, requests participants to register in advance.
