This morning Korean Air will take possession of a Boeing Co. 777 jet. What’s so special about that?
It’s the 3,000th jet built in Everett.
Boeing workers began assembling the first of those jets, a 747, in Everett 40 years ago. Since then, thousands of Boeing employees have continued to build the 747 while adding in the 767 and 777. Next year, Boeing is scheduled to deliver its first 787, also going through final assembly in Everett.
For Korean Air, this 777 marks its 113th Boeing plane, its 18th 777. The airline now has a total fleet of 124 planes
