Readers remain optimistic about 787 flight

The Boeing Co.’s Dreamliner will take flight in September, so says the majority of participants in my “Guess the date of the 787’s first flight” contest.
Obviously, this isn’t the most scientific or most reliable way of gauging when the Dreamliner will take to the skies over Paine Field.
Still, it’s worth noting that 64 percent of contest entrants estimate the 787 will fly before the end of September. About 22 percent of contest participants believe the 787 will fly for the first time in October.
Fourteen percent say the Dreamliner won’t fly until November or later with some placing the first flight as late as March 2008.
Think you’ve got the right guess? The contest is still open. You can check out my previous entry for further details.
Contest note:
I thought only journalists were conspiracy theorists … but an e-mail I received makes me think I should clarify a few contest points:
This contest doesn’t benefit me financially. There is no entry fee. The contest isn’t backed by any corporation. It’s free and is meant simply for your enjoyment.
