Magladry keeps board seat

Jean Magladry of Bothell has been reappointed to serve on the Cascadia Community College Board of Trustees.

Magladry, a former city prosecutor for Spokane, is expected to serve a term starting Oct. 1 and ending Sept. 30, 2012.

She is a member of the Northwest Women’s Law Center and the Women of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association.

Cascadia Community College is at 18345 Campus Way NE in Bothell.

Get dirty at park cleanup

Put on some old clothes and do some good for the environment at an event planned for later this month at Meadowdale Park.

Clearing invasive weeds and planting native plants are expected to be among the activities during the community service event scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28. The park is at 6026 156th St. SW.

Book sale to aid library

A book sale to raise money for the Mill Creek Library is being planned for the end of this month.

The Friends of the Sno-Isle Mill Creek Library fall book sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 at the library, 15429 Bothell-Everett Highway in Mill Creek. The sale is expected to feature books appropriate for all ages.

People are welcome to donate books to the sale. Books must be in good condition. Textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, computer manuals, health books, legal advice books and digests are not accepted. Proceeds from the sale will benefit programs, events, services and facilities at the library.

Doctor joins hospital

Jonathan Borjeson, board-certified in general surgery, has joined Monroe General Surgery in the Sky River Medical Center on Valley General Hospital’s campus. He started seeing patients on Sept. 10.

Borjeson graduated with a degree in engineering and worked as a NASA engineer before he decided to attend medical school.
