Arlington: Race model airplanes

Arlington Municipal Airport, 18204 59th Drive NE, plans to host model airplane races from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Granite Falls: Story times scheduled

Preschool story times are planned at the Granite Falls Library for the next two Mondays, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1.

The events are scheduled 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the library, 815 E. Galena St.

Story times feature stories, songs and rhymes geared to help children ages 3 to 5 become ready to read.

The free events are sponsored by the Friends of the Granite Falls Library.

Marysville: Golf tourney planned

Marysville’s Mighty Marlins swim club is looking for golfers and sponsors for its fundraising golf tournament next month.

The sixth annual golf tournament is scheduled 9 a.m. Oct. 13 at Camaloch Golf Course on Camano Island.

The $60 fee per player includes golf and lunch.

Prizes are awarded for men’s and women’s longest drive and for closest to the pin on par-3 holes. A raffle and putting contest are also scheduled. The deadline to enter is Sept. 30.

Stanwood: String band performs

The South End String Band plans to play a free concert, part of the Harvest Jubilee farming celebration, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in The Country Store parking lot, 8815 272nd St. NW.
