Both Airbus’s A350 XWB and Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner are on Vietnam Airlines wish list. The carrier announced Monday that it had signed tentative deals with both plane makers.
The state-run carrier already has four Dreamliners on order with Boeing and was the seventh airline to request the 787 back in 2005, according to a Boeing press statement. Vietnam Airlines intends to buy another dozen Dreamliners from Boeing with delivery beginning in 2015.
Airbus also signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam Airlines. The carrier wants to pick up 10 A350 Extra Wide Body jets, along with 20 A321 single-aisle jets.
