Everett: Final budget hearing Wednesday
Everett City Council is scheduled Wednesday to hold its final public hearing on the proposed 2008 city budget.
The public will have an opportunity to weigh in.
Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson last month unveiled his proposed $492 million spending plan.
Copies of this proposed 2008 budget can be reviewed at the city clerk’s office, 2930 Wetmore Ave., Suite 1-A, during regular business hours. The proposal can also be reviewed online at the city’s Web site, www.everettwa.org.
The council meets Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in the City Council Chambers, 3002 Wetmore Ave., Everett.
South Forest Park talk on Housing Hope
The South Forest Neighbor-hood Association is set to meet today at 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 4634 Alger Ave.
Fred Safstrom with Housing Hope, a nonprofit group that provides safe housing for homeless and low-income residents, is the speaker.

Mukilteo: From open space to park
Open space in the city of Mukilteo could become park land during the next meeting of the Mukilteo City Council.
The council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 19 at City Hall at 4480 Chennault Beach Road.
Among the parcels of open space that will likely be converted to parkland is the area near the gulch at the intersection of Goat Trail Road and 15th Place. The parkland changes would be made along with other zoning changes in the Mukilteo Comprehensive Plan.
Snohomish: Center offers dance classes
Snohomish Seniors offer something new this month at the senior center, temporarily located at 1514 Pine Ave.
On four Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., beginning this Thursday, people are invited to partake in a class called Tea Dance, taught by Colleen Dobbins.
Participants will learn to waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, rumba, tango and more in fun and easy lessons. The instruction will be followed by tea, coffee, treats and social time. Cost of the four-week session is $33.
