Tuesday update
Published 8:05 pm Tuesday, November 13, 2007
Some quick notes from Tuesday’s practice:
– Both of Everett’s newcomers, left wing Clayton Bauer and defenseman Jeff Regier, arrived in time to participate today. I didn’t get a chance to talk to Bauer, but I was told he’s happy to be here. Regier definitely seemed happy to be back.
– Everett should be closer to full strength for tomorrow’s game against Chilliwack. Both right wing Dan Gendur (shoulder) and defenseman Taylor Ellington (knee), who sat out the tail end of the road trip because of injury, practiced today. However, forwards Matt Ius (hip) and Tyler Skauge (concussion) are out. Neither Ius nor Skauge are expected to be long-term casualties.
– With the departure of Brennan Sonne the Tips are planning on assigning another “A”. However, it probably won’t happen until next week.
– In prospect news, Everett had a pair of 16-year-old list players named to Team West for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Forward Brett Chartier and defenseman Paul Sohor will be representing Manitoba-Saskatchewan at the tournament, which takes place Dec. 29-Jan. 4 in London, Ontario.
8 p.m. UPDATE
Bruce Thomassen passed along the information that David Reekie has been picked up by the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires. Hopefully Reekie will get a chance there.
