FYI: Meeting about ferries postponed
Published 11:04 pm Thursday, November 15, 2007
A meeting planned today in Seattle to explore the idea of putting new hulls on some of the state’s oldest ferries has been postponed.
The consultant recommending the idea had a death in the family, said Marta Coursey, communications director for Washington State Ferries.
It was not immediately clear when the meeting will be rescheduled.
Missing rainfall now recovered
As at least one eagle-eyed newspaper reader deduced, year-to-date precipitation figures for Everett have been incorrect on The Herald’s weather page since Oct. 19.
Weather Central Inc., which supplies the newspaper’s weather statistics, confirms the error: Between Oct. 18 and 19, the reported amount of annual total rainfall dropped from 23.69 inches to 20.85 inches. Since this is a running total, such a decline was impossible.
Weather Central has corrected the year-to-date total for Everett on today’s page.
