Lake Stevens: Sewer fees topic at meeting

The Lake Stevens City Council has scheduled a joint meeting with the Lake Stevens Sewer District tonight to consider an increase in sewer fees.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Services Center, 12309 22nd Street NE.

If approved, the increase would raise sewer rates by $5 per month for all residential and commercial customers, from $45 per month to $50.

Snohomish: Gallery shows NW art

Arts of Snohomish Gallery presents “Land, Fire &Steel!” through November at 105 Cedar Ave. Parking and admission are free.

This exhibition features pottery in beautiful forms, acrylic paintings of Northwest landscapes and steel work of Northwest animals and landscapes.

The gallery is also seeking artists for membership. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Monroe: Community band needs players

The Monroe Community Concert Band is seeking percussion players to play drums, chimes, bells and cymbals.

The band practices from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays at New Hope Fellowship Church, 1016 W. Main St.

The band includes people who hadn’t played instruments for years. The nonprofit group, dedicated to playing good music, performs at community events.

Mukilteo: Join in holiday boat parade

Boaters are invited to join the Mukilteo Yacht Club for a lighted boat parade to Mukilteo Lighthouse Park.

The parade, scheduled in conjunction with the city of Mukilteo’s tree-lighting ceremony at Rosehill Community Center, is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6. Boats are expected to depart by 6 p.m. and arrive at Lighthouse Park around 6:45 p.m. The annual tree-lighting ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m.

People who join the floating parade are asked to decorate their boats with Christmas lights.
