Abraham Lincoln will return today
The Everett-based aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and its roughly 3,000 sailors are scheduled to return to their home port about 2 p.m. today.
The giant warship has been training for several weeks in Southern California waters, preparing for its next deployment — probably in early 2008.
Those who want to view the big vessel en route to Naval Station Everett should be able to see it well from a variety of Port Gardner vantage points in Mukilteo and Everett.
See the pioneers of local television
An award-winning documentary from Everett’s John Landis, Ed Escalona and Tim Stansbury on local television’s children’s shows, including TV personalities J.P. Patches (Edmonds’ Chris Wedes), Camano Island’s Stan Boreson, Brakeman Bill (Bill McClain of Tacoma) and Capt. Puget (Don McCune) will air 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Comcast Channel 77.
The 1991 documentary features interviews and rare clips.
