50 years ago (1957)
Cybele Horizon Club made plans for its bake sale at Montgomery Ward. Other recent activities included a hay ride to Camp Killoqua with Beth Hansen, Marilyn Jones, Sally Wood and Tricia Nord in charge. Grace Thomke spoke on pharmacy as a career for girls. Hairdressers Walter Warner and Velma Johns recently visited the group.
This year the Everett High School “Hi-Jinx” had two chorus lines. The top group consisted of Lilian Montanaro, Fran Jensen, Darlene Storkson, Joan Cooper, Kay Bucklin, Judy Collins, Ann O’Conner, Donna Ballew and Pat Mullen. The second group of “girls” was made up of Ken North, Dan Vognild, Al Furiak, John Monahan and Larry Spelhaug.

Tonight you could follow the searchlights to California Street and Colby Avenue. J.C. Penney was having its Greatest Saturday Night Sale.
The meaning of Thanksgiving through the eyes of youngsters could be found in letters written by Mary Fillicetti’s fifth-graders at Immaculate Conception School, on display next week at the downtown Everett Olympic Bank.
