Lake Stevens: Rotary to collect bikes for children
The Lake Stevens-Granite Falls Rotary Club is planning to collect bicycles, tricycles or other riding toys in good condition on Dec. 1.
Collection time is between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Lake Stevens Haggen store, 8915 Market Place, and the Granite Falls Red Apple, 115 N. Granite Ave.
The bikes will be cleaned and redistributed, in time for Christmas, to Lake Stevens and Granite Falls children in need. The club has given out more than 1,000 bikes with helmets in the past six years, according to Rotarian Don Speirs.

Mukilteo: City Council plans vote on 2008 budget
The City Council is planning to vote whether to approve Mukilteo’s proposed 2008 budget at its meeting set for next week.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday – an hour earlier than usual – at City Hall, 4480 Chennault Beach Road.
The proposed $31.3 million budget includes more funding for police and fire, capital improvement projects, maintenance and the creation of a new Recreation and Cultural Services Department.

Snohomish: Library offers events for kids
The Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave., is set to offer three story-time events for children.
Baby Storytime is being held for ages birth to 18 months and caregivers at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Toddler Storytime is presented for ages 18 months to 3 years and caregivers at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Preschool Storytime for ages 3 to 5 and caregivers will begin at 10: 30 a.m. Wednesday.
