No Nightly News tonight from Boeing

For those of you who were hoping to catch a glimpse of the Boeing Co.’s Everett plant on national television tonight, you’ll have to wait a while longer.

Last Friday, on the Nightly News, anchor Brian Williams signed off by telling viewers he would broadcast from Seattle on Monday and Boeing’s jet factory in Everett on Tuesday.

But the storms across the Northeast and Northwest nixed the Nightly News crew’s journey.

Williams’ broadcast from Boeing would have been the second visit by a major NBC program this year. The Everett site was featured this spring on segment of the Today Show’s “Where in the World is Matt Lauer?” program.

Also this year, former Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw emceed Boeing’s rollout of its new 787 Dreamliner on July 8.

Williams plans to reschedule his Puget Sound trip.
