The children of Everett residents Bud and Alice Carpenter were dressed up and ready to march in the annual Kiddies’ Parade. Quinn, 3, was devilishly garbed. Her brothers, Johnny, 5; Chuck, 6; and Jeep, 8, were clowns. The Carpenter children, like dozens of others of the area, would march in the parade through the city center tomorrow. Everett Junior Chamber of Commerce was putting on the parade.

The holiday season was in full swing, as several string players of the Everett Symphony Orchestra could attest. They put in a full day taking part in two performances of Handel’s “Messiah,” one in the afternoon at Arlington High School and the other in the evening at the Everett First Congregational Church.
Folks would be swimming in Oak Harbor’s new John Vanderzicht Memorial Swimming Pool early in January. The pool would be open for viewing Jan. 2 and for swimming on Jan. 8.
