Arlington: Wreath workshop planned
A hands-on wreath-making workshop is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Arlington Boys &Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE.
Participants should bring hand pruners, evergreens, holly, dried flowers, seed pods and other wreath-making supplies. Extras should be available at the event.
Wire wreath forms are expected to be available for $3.
Participants who are not members of the Arlington Garden Club are requested to donate $2 for the event.

Marysville: History for the holidays
The Marysville Historical Society has a book, a DVD and a calendar for sale for the holidays.
The 104-page book, “Voices of the Past,” includes diary writings of pioneers and historical photos. It sells for $20.
The DVD, “The Place Where it All Began,” is an hourlong documentary of Marysville’s history featuring photos from several local historical collections. The cost is $20.
The 2008 calendar features a historical photo of a pioneer family each month. The calendar sells for $10.
Proceeds go to benefit the Historical Society, which is building a new museum.

Stanwood: Holiday party is Saturday
Holiday music, free photos with Santa and children’s activities are scheduled Saturday as part of An Old-Fashioned Christmas in Stanwood.
The event also includes gift bags from Santa, coffee, cocoa and cookies.
Everything is free.
The Stanwood Chamber of Commerce and the Stanwood Area Historical Society are organizing the event.
An Old-Fashioned Christmas in Stanwood is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27108 102nd Ave. NW.
