‘Fishers of men’ was Jesus’ quote

Without dealing with the issue of whether or not Jesus was a conservative or a liberal, since it is obvious that Jesus was not killed by the authorities solely on the basis that he was trying to get people to conserve the values of the past. He taught some radical stuff, like welcoming the marginalized and excluded to the banquet table.

“Teaching someone to fish” is a worthy goal, but suggesting that as a quote of Jesus leaves me wondering what Bible the Wednesday letter writer is reading. Could someone give me chapter and verse? Help!
