Everett: Bald eagle ‘Freedom’ to visit

“Freedom,” a mature bald eagle, and her keeper, Jeff Guidry of the Sarvey Wildlife Center, are scheduled to visit Everett’s Northwest Stream Center next weekend.

The all-ages demonstration is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the stream center, 600 128th St. SE. Tickets must be purchased in advance. The cost is $5 for members, $7 for nonmembers.

Garden Club talk on medicinal herbs

The Everett Garden Club is scheduled to talk about medicinal botanicals and herbal medications Wednesday.

The free program starts at 11 a.m. at Memorial Community Church, 710 Pecks Drive.

South Forest Park neighbors to meet

Everett’s South Forest Park Neighborhood Association is scheduled to meet Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 4634 Alger Ave.

A representative with the city’s planning department is set to give a brief workshop on how the planning department works.

Residents are encouraged to bring questions.

South Forest Park is bounded by 41st Street-Mukilteo Boulevard to the north, Evergreen Way to the East, Pecks Drive to the south and Pigeon Creek to the west.

Mukilteo: Readers invited to book group

Readers are invited to discuss a novel by John Steinbeck at this month’s meeting of the Mukilteo Library Evening Book Group.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 17 at the library at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd.

The featured book of this month’s meeting is Steinbeck’s “The Winter of Our Discontent.” Anyone is welcome to attend.

Snohomish: Hearing on utilities extended

The City Council on Wednesday decided to extend a public hearing on new utility rates, which could bring big increases in sewer and water bills to city residents and businesses. The council plans to continue the hearing at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 in the George Gilbertson Boardroom, 1601 Ave. D.

Gallery features new Black &White show

Arts of Snohomish Gallery presents The Black &White Show throughout January. The gallery is at 105 Cedar Ave.

This exhibition features more than 25 pieces of art in black, white and shades of gray. The gallery members chose this theme to celebrate the grays of winter. There is an artist reception on Jan. 12 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
