It’s National Pancake Day
Eat a stack at an IHOP, free, and leave a donation for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Scott Gonzales, general manager at IHOP in Everett, says his restaurant is ready and waiting.
On a normal Tuesday, they might have seven folks on the wait staff, but 15 will share shifts today. They’ve called friends to come down and some will also donate their tips.
There will be at least one special delivery: Employees at Verizon have ordered 150 pancakes to go and will donate more than $1,600 to the campaign.
“It’s for a good cause,” Gonzales says. “They take good care of the children.”
Last year during the benefit, IHOPs around the country collected more than $625,000 for children’s charities and served 1.1 million pancakes, enough to create a stack of flapjacks more than eight miles high.

Correction
The official Web site for children’s television host Brakeman Bill is www.leopardgrrl.com/portfolio/bbill/bbill.htm. An incorrect Web address was included in a list of local children’s television shows that ran with Sunday’s front page story on J.P. Patches.
