50 years ago (1958)

Selected as an outstanding leader and citizen in the community and one worthy of being honored in the Camp Fire “Meet the People” program was Kirsten Culmback, consultant for elementary music in the Everett schools.

Bill Cross, chairman of the Everett Chamber of Commerce’s Trade Development Committee, presented an oversized key of welcome to Bob Reinertson, president of the new and busy South Everett Commercial Club.

25 years ago (1983)

Some 60 tons of clothing was gathered in a Volunteers of America drive involving about 40 public and private organizations and thousands of individuals. Girl Saparto of Everett VOA said it was tremendous and far more than expected.

Everett High School took third place in the state 3A wrestling tournament in Ellensburg and had two state champions. The Seagull champs were Joey Martin and Eric Malsberry. Delfino Cuellar also scored valuable points.
