50 years ago (1958)

Leaving Monday by plane for Detroit was Herbert Hansey of Thornberry Chevrolet, Marysville. As president of the 100 Car Club (he sold that many cars in 1957) in Washington, he would be a guest of the Chevrolet company for two days with 46 other 100 Car Club men.

25 years ago (1983)

Chef Jean Ibarbide had cooked from Lausanne, Switzerland, to Los Angeles, but was happy to be in Everett. Originally from the south of France, he was now chef at the Everett-Pacific Hotel. He had noticed a change in the American palate noting that America was becoming Europe and Europe was becoming America.

Six area high school students were chosen Boy and Girl of the Month. They were Rob Millar and Deirdre Walker of Everett High School, Jay Vandermeer and Megan Goshorn of Cascade High School, and David Ames and Kim Thacker of Mariner High School.
