Fire guts Everett apartment

EVERETT — No one was hurt in a fire that gutted an Everett apartment Sunday.
The fire may have started in a couch in a top-floor unit at the Highlander Apartments in the 2400 block of 11th Street, Everett Fire Battalion Chief Roger Westlund said. It is unclear what sparked the blaze.
People living in the apartment were displaced and the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross provided assistance.
The damage was estimated at $75,000.
