I am a food nerd.

I love reading about “super foods,” organic foods, local foods, even industrialized junk foods, all of which I eat.

Give me a book like “Fast Food Nation” or “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” and I’ll be rapt.

Today I bring you a most intriguing list of the 10 worst foods, 10 best foods from the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a nonprofit watchdog group focused on consumer health and nutrition.

Foods that made the “best” list — aka “Super Foods for Better Health” — include old favorites such as kale, sweet potatotes and broccoli, but you’ll also find surprises such as rye crackers, microwavable brown rice (including a specific mention of Uncle Ben’s) and diced, oven-ready butternut squash.

The “worst” list — aka “Foods You Should Never Eat” — blasts specific products from Starbucks, Cold Stone Creamery, Chipotle, McDonald’s, Burger King, Ruby Tuesday, Cheesecake Factory, Dove and even Campbell’s Soup.

Check out the lists and see how your diet rates.
