50 years ago (1958)
The View Ridge PTA was meeting in Room 10 at the school. Guest speaker was Mary Louise Sloane of the children’s division of the Everett Public Library. Her topic was books for the preschool child and she would display some at the meeting. Among those on the refreshment committee were Marge Hovde and Eileen Staniford.
Lyle Jones and fellow members of Fire Protection District No. 6 were building a new garage on his property at 6309 Commercial Ave. in Pinehurst. The workers were George Hanson, Courtney Jones, Don Rowe, Verne Richardson, Don Fischer, Robert Joyce, Rex Doyle, Ray Yorkston, John Jamieson Sr. and John Jamieson Jr., Charles Jackson and Bill White.
25 years ago (1983)
Everett violinist and music teacher Gene Nastri enjoyed a visit from Norwegian violinist Mark Peskanov, who performed recently at Civic Auditorium. After breakfast at the Nastri home, they visited Hazel Syer of south Everett to inspect her collection of violin bows.
William Brown of Everett, a warrant officer assigned to the Everett Army Reserve unit, the 92nd Medical Helicopter Company at Paine Field, was the Distinguished Graduate of his 38-member class, which had just completed flight training at Fort Rucker, Ala.
