Jeremy Shockey? A Seattle Seahawk?

A report out of New York has linked the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints to the New York Giants’ controversial tight end.

The New York Daily News reported that Seattle and New Orleans have inquired about trading for Shockey, who missed the final two regular-season games and the playoffs because of a broken leg. The Daily News did not reveal what the Seahawks offered, and the article said that the Giants are not necessarily committed to trading Shockey.

The tight end position seems to be one of Seattle’s most obvious needs heading into this weekend’s NFL draft. Veteran Marcus Pollard, who started last season, is not expected to be back. Will Heller and Jeb Putzier are the most viable options on the current roster.
