Dan Taylor resigned today from his job as Meadowdale High School’s head girls basketball coach.
Taylor coached the team for three seasons.
This past season (2007-2008) he guided the Mavericks to a fifth-place finish at the Class 3A state tournament and a 24-5 record.
Taylor, 31, also took Meadowdale to state in 2006, when the Mavericks placed in 4A, and 2007 (sixth place in 3A).
“I have had a wonderful time being the girls head basketball coach at Meadowdale High School. I have had the opportunity to coach some great teams and great players. I will continue to teach and be involved at Meadowdale High School but feel it’s time to make a change and reduce my head coaching responsibilities to spend more time with my family so I am resigning as the Head Girls Basketball Coach of Meadowdale effective immediately,” Taylor wrote in an e-mail announcing his resignation.
Taylor said he plans to continue teaching physical education and health at Meadowdale.
