41st Street bridge to close for paving

The 41st Street SE bridge over Broadway is scheduled to be closed Thursday night and early Friday morning for grinding and paving on the bridge, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The offramp from northbound I-5 to 41st will still be open, but drivers will only able to go eastbound toward Third Avenue after exiting, DOT spokeswoman Patty Michaud said. The onramp to northbound I-5 will still be open, but drivers trying to reach it from 41st will have to take a roundabout way to do it, she said.

The bridge is scheduled to close at 7 p.m. Thursday and re-open at 4 a.m. Friday.

Northbound I-5 drivers trying to reach westbound 41st Street will have to follow a signed detour following Smith Avenue to Broadway.
