Music talk: Billy Joel birthday bash

Chopstix has found a “holiday” to claim as its own.

Tonight, the three Puget Sound Chopstix clubs, including one at 2820 Oakes Ave. in Everett, are throwing a birthday bash for the Piano Man himself, Billy Joel.

Doors open at 5 p.m., and the clubs are taking dinner reservations (425-259-9013 in Everett).

A Billy Joel impersonator will do a 45-minute set in each club to celebrate Joel’s birthday. He will start at the Everett Chopstix at 7:30 p.m., Seattle between 8:30 and 9 and Tacoma at 10.

Olympic Eagle Distributing in Tacoma has made special commemor-ative Budweiser glassware for each guest to take home.

Highway 99 Blues Club

For the fourth year in a row, Highway 99 Blues Club was voted the “best blues club in Washington” for 2008 by the Washington Blues Society at its annual awards show recently.

The club is at 141 Alaskan Way, Seattle.
