Airbus revises A380 schedule

Airbus has adjusted its delivery schedule for the A380.

The superjumbo jet was roughly two years late into the market due to wiring issues. Airbus delivered the first A380 last year and since has delivered four jets.

But the “steep” production ramp up has caused the European jetmaker to revise its extended delivery schedule, it said in a press statement today.

Airbus plans to deliver 12 A380s this year, down one from 13. In 2009, it will hand over 21 jets rather than the planned 25. Airbus is still discussing delivery slots in 2010 with customers.
