EVERETT — A 9-year-old boy was rushed to a Seattle hospital Friday after suffering severe burns from running through a fire.
The boy suffered second- and third-degree burns in the incident, which happened about 6:05 p.m. in the 2300 block of 116th Street SE, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.
He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Hynes said.
Snohomish County sheriff’s Capt. Kevin Prentiss said a 16-year-old boy decided to light a jar of gasoline on fire, and then threw it onto his front lawn.
His brother, the 9-year-old, decided to run through the flames and got burned on his upper body, Prentiss said.
