50 years ago (1958)

Martha Hilen reminisced about the events of her life and that of her family as she celebrated her 95th birthday today with friends and family. She resided at the home of her daughter, Thelma Johnson, 3631 Colby Ave.

Carolyn Ziebell, Lyn to her many friends, was a candidate for Everett’s “Miss Liberty of 1958.” A student at Everett High School, she was in the school band, the pep band and the Girl’s Athletic Club. In addition to her school activities, she was a member of Rainbow and Horizon Girls’ organizations.

25 years ago (1983)

Looking forward to returning to her Friday Happy Hours bowling league next fall was Jennifer Knudson, a mother last week. Gary and Jennifer Knudson became the parents of a baby boy on May 18, their second child.

Snohomish High School grad Maureen Carrick Kelley, an assistant girls track coach at Overland High School in Colorado, had the satisfaction of seeing her 1,600-meter relay team place fifth and her 800-meter runner earn a sixth-place in the Colorado AAA state championship last week. Her team earlier won its district meet, a first-ever for the four-year-old school.
