Bible Studies

Christian Faith Center presents a series entitled “Faith Will Change Your World” at 9:30 and 11:45 a.m. Sundays.

CAMPS

Faith Lutheran Church invites children ages 4 to sixth grade to its “Beach Party: Surfin’ Through the Scriptures” vacation Bible school, 6 to 8 p.m. July 8 to 11 at 1424 172nd St. NE, Lakewood.

Registration starts at 5:30 p.m. July 8. The cost is $10 per child or $25 per family and includes a T-shirt.

W-Bar-B Ranch summer youth camps start Sunday.

Fourth- through sixth-graders and seventh- through ninth-graders are invited for horseback riding, swimming, archery, rocket launching, mountain boards, a climbing tower and a high-adventure ropes course. A horsemanship training elective allows campers to improve their riding skills.

An equestrian vaulting camp runs from Sunday to July 5. The camp is designed for beginners through gold level competitors. Vaulting coach is Patti Skipton, who coached the U.S. vaulting team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Weekly vaulting lessons for all skill levels are available throughout the year. Lessons include groundwork, practice on a vaulting barrel and vaulting on a horse.

The Salvation Army of Everett and Snohomish County presents summer youth camps.

A Discovery Camp is scheduled for Monday to July 4 for youth ages 8 to 12.

A Tahoma Expedition Camp is scheduled for July 12 to 16 for youth ages 13 to 16.

Both camps are at Camp Arnold at Timberlake, 33712 Webster Road E., Eatonville.

Scholarships are available. A small security deposit is required to reserve a space at the camp.

Festivals

Crosswater Community Church invites visitors to its booth at the Sultan Shindig festival 4 to 11 p.m. July 11, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 12 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 13. The festival is set to happen on Main Street and adjacent streets.

Volunteers plan to hand out free water and provide a shaded place to rest with lots of fans.

Independence Day

Christian Faith Center invites the public to Freedom Northwest, an Independence Day celebration following its 9:30 and 11:45 a.m. services Sunday at 13000 21st Drive SE, Everett.

Pastors Casey and Wendy Treat are scheduled to lead the events.

The celebration includes patriotic music, a “thunderous indoor Harley parade” and a family picnic in the field across from the center’s main building.

Prices vary for food. Proceeds from the event go toward the youth ministry.

@1. a BODY STYLES:The Church of Christ North Sound concludes its program featuring Murray Wade from Oak Ridge, Tenn., 9:30 a.m. Sunday, at the church 14 E. Casino Road, Everett.

Wade plans to continue the series of Bible lessons on Creation. Three talks are scheduled: “Evidences from Job” at 9:30 a.m., “Accident or Design” at 10:30 a.m. and “It Still Comes Down to Faith” at 5 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church of Everett presents “The Environmental Crisis? What We May Not Know about It Can Haunt Us: An Educator’s Assessment,” 10 a.m. July 6 at 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.

Jeff Wright, dean of the School of Engineering at the University of California at Merced, plans to provide an informal presentation and discussion on the environmental crisis from the viewpoint of an educator and environmental engineer.

The session is part of a summer curricula, “Worldly Saints in Ordinary Time.”
