Bike4peace concert on Sunday
A concert is set to benefit Bike4peace, a project of Everett Peace Action, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Wiggums Hollow Park, 2808 10th St. in Everett.
Bike4peace is a cross-country bicycle ride from Everett to Washington, D.C., to promote the cause of peace.
Suggested donation is $15 to $20.
Adopt cats in Mukilteo on Sunday
More than 50 cats and kittens will be available at the Pawsitive Alliance’s second annual cat adoption event.
MEOW in Mukilteo is planned for noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Mukilteo YMCA, 10601 47th Place W. in Mukilteo.
See cats and kittens available from six cat rescue organizations. Each cat has been altered and its shots are updated. Adoption fees are $75 to $100.
Supplies needed for youth conference
The YMCA of Snohomish County seeks donations to help kids who plan to travel to Europe to participate in the International Youth Conference in August. YMCA branches will collect school supplies until Thursday.
One team from Snohomish County plans to join the more than 10,000 kids from 40 different countries participating in the program Aug. 3 to 9 in Prague, Czech Republic. Call 360-651-1606.
Quilters meet to sew for troops
Stanwood-Camano Hero Quilters will sew quilts for wounded warriors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Stanwood Senior Center, 7430 276th St. NW in Stanwood. The Wounded Warrior Unit at Fort Lewis seeks 100 quilts a month.
Last month the group delivered 52 quilts, bringing their total to 248 quilts given to American Hero Quilts since January 2007.
Foster kids need school supplies
Sleep Country USA hosts its Foster Kids School Supplies Drive during regular store hours Monday through Sept. 14.
The drive aims to collect pencils, pens, notebooks, calculators, paper, backpacks, binders and pocket dictionaries. Drop off goods at any Sleep Country USA store. Donations will be distributed among 20 Pacific Northwest foster care organizations.
