MERLIN, Ore. — Sheriff’s deputies say they have accused two young people in the killings of four dogs stolen from the Josephine County animal shelter.
Eleven dogs were stolen Friday. Later, four puppies were found dead, apparently hit in the head, along a road.
Five dogs were found later, and two blue heeler pups are missing.
Deputies said today they had arrested two of three people suspected of cutting chain-link kennel fencing Friday night at the shelter.
The two, a 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, were accused of animal abuse, theft and other charges. Deputies say they are looking for a woman who is suspected.
