What: Movie buffs and video game fans might have fun with the Olens Technology XPJ Projector. The device helps blow up your picture, turning any white wall into a movie screen.
Advantages:The projector displays images from 50 inches to 70 inches wide, producing a 640 by 480 pixel image. The device uses a 270-watt bulb that lasts about 300 hours. The XPJ also comes with a back-up bulb for when the original burns out. It also comes with built-in speakers. Granted, outlets let you hook up stereo speakers, along with DVD players, video game consoles or VHS players.
Limitations:For the most part, projectors like this start around $800 and go up from there. The XPJ retails for $279. The old advice that you get what you pay for springs to mind, triggering questions about the XPJ. Most importantly, is it worth spending more than $200 on a device that may not deliver a high-quality picture? Cautious buyers may be better served by simply investing in a more expensive device.
