LYNNWOOD — Grammy Award-winning musicians Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel are scheduled on Saturday to headline On Air, a benefit concert, dinner and awards ceremony for KSER (90.7 FM).

The annual fundraiser at Edmonds Community College is an important source of income for the station that relies heavily on individual donations and special events.

“This is one of the ways we can celebrate and show who we are and people can support public radio,” said Brenda Mann Harrison, a KSER board member.

Tickets for Saturday’s event will be on sale through Friday night. The cost is $60, which includes dinner and two hours of music.

Tingstad and Rumbel are contemporary instrumentalists from Issaquah known for their melodic blend of finger-picking guitar and woodwind instruments.

In 2003, the duo won a Grammy in the New Age category for their album “Acoustic Garden.” They were nominated again in 2007 for their release Southwest.

On Saturday, the two-piece band will become a quintet with a bassist and drummer.

Mark Lilly, an Afro-Cuban percussionist, is scheduled to open the concert along with a piano player and vocalist.

The event will also feature a new award called the KSER Voice of the Community Award.

Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson is expected to present the award to someone who has helped improve the community by giving their voice to a cause.

KSER, which airs a broad range of music news and commentary, is heard in Snohomish and Island counties and parts of northern King County. It’s looking at adding a second transmitter to serve Whidbey Island.

Last year, about $118,000 of its nearly $400,000 budget came from individual donations.
