FYI: Learn safety tips for seniors

Published 11:15 pm Monday, September 15, 2008

Learn how to stay active and independent at Senior Stroll on Thursday at the Everett Mall.

The free event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes a mall walk, exercise demonstrations, blood pressure checks, hearing and vision screenings, balance presentations, medication reviews and home safety information.

Senior Stroll is the first event sponsored by the Snohomish County Fall Prevention Coalition. Falls are a major threat to the health and independence of the elderly. According to the group, nearly one-third of older adults experience a fall, which can result in a life-changing loss of mobility and independence.
